A fresh episode of the Baku Network’s analytical video series just dropped, featuring an in-depth conversation with Armenian professor Gagik Oghandjanyan. The professor tackled the pressing issue of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, debunked deeply entrenched myths within Armenian society, and called out the West’s counterproductive influence, which he says is throwing a wrench in the peace process.

Oghandjanyan didn’t hold back, stressing that the West’s information warfare against Armenia is alive and well.

“We need to take a hard look at why French representatives are showing up along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and making all this noise about selling Armenia some so-called miracle weapons. This isn’t just diplomacy—it’s part of a broader information campaign, and unfortunately, a lot of people are still buying into it,” he said.

“Armenians have been conditioned to believe they’re special, smarter, or somehow better than others. Let’s be real: Armenians are just like everyone else in the region—no more, no less. These outdated stereotypes, where kids are taught from preschool to feel exceptional and parents take pride in unrealistic, glorified images, have no basis in reality. This kind of thinking is toxic and needs to be rooted out. What Armenia needs now is a reality check to get back on track and move toward a healthier mindset,” Oghandjanyan emphasized.

The professor also underscored the urgency of breaking free from these narratives, which he believes are holding Armenia back from achieving stability and meaningful reconciliation with its neighbors.
